My Favorite Paris Photo Locations — The Insider’s Guide
Best Paris Photo Locations for Couples, Families, and Solo Portraits
Hi! I’m so happy you’re considering capturing your memories here in Paris, one of the most romantic cities in the world. Over the years, I’ve photographed so many beautiful moments, engagements, proposals, family portraits, and solo shoots, and along the way, I’ve fallen in love with certain locations that truly bring stories to life.
Each place I recommend has its own personality and magic. Some are iconic, others are secret hideaways. I’ll tell you about the light, the atmosphere, and what kind of photos you can expect, like I’m sharing the city’s best-kept secrets with a trusted friend.
Iconic Parisian Backdrops
-
The Eiffel Tower isn’t just a backdrop, it’s the heartbeat of Paris. But the secret is where you place yourself around it that shapes your photos. Here are my favorite spots, each with its own vibe and story.
Pont de Bir-Hakeim
This is hands down one of the most cinematic spots in Paris. The iron bridge’s symmetrical architecture frames the Eiffel Tower perfectly, creating that famous Parisian look that feels like a movie set. The early morning light here is soft and golden, and you’ll often find the bridge quiet before the city wakes up, so we can take our time creating timeless, elegant images.Avenue de Camoëns
Tucked away like a hidden gem, this street offers a quaint, almost village-like Parisian atmosphere. It’s a quiet spot, lined with classic Parisian townhouses and cobblestones, where the Eiffel Tower peeks out at the end of the street — the perfect mix of intimacy and iconic views. It’s especially lovely for romantic walks and natural couple shots.Port Debilly
Right on the Seine’s edge, this spot offers serene river views with the Eiffel Tower rising beyond. The water reflections at sunrise are stunning, adding depth and calm to your images. It’s a peaceful corner away from crowds, where we can capture you both against the gentle flow of the river and the soft Parisian light.Trocadéro
The classic must-visit for that sweeping, majestic view of the tower. If we arrive early at sunrise, we’ll have this vast open space almost to ourselves, perfect for grand, romantic portraits. The wide esplanade gives so much freedom to move around and play with different angles, you can feel the city’s heartbeat here.Rue Saint-Dominique
One of my personal favorites for a Paris street vibe, this bustling avenue is full of lively cafes, flower shops, and charming architecture. Unlike other spots, this isn’t about rooftop views but about capturing authentic Parisian life with the Eiffel Tower subtly framed between buildings in the background. It’s ideal for relaxed, candid moments that feel truly local.

The Louvre courtyard is a dream for those who love symmetry and history. The glass pyramids contrast beautifully with the classical stone facades, and the clean lines work wonderfully for modern, editorial-style portraits. Just behind, the Tuileries Garden offers tree-lined walkways, elegant fountains, and vibrant flower beds that change with the seasons, perfect for families and couples who want a softer, garden-like setting.

This garden is a peaceful haven with tons of character. Its manicured lawns, grand fountains, and iconic green chairs create a relaxed yet sophisticated backdrop. I especially love this spot for family sessions or casual couple portraits where we can play with natural light filtering through the trees and add a touch of Parisian elegance.

The Seine’s edges are sprinkled with countless photo-worthy spots. From cobblestone paths to quiet overlooks, this area is a photographer’s dream for capturing romance and movement. We can find quiet corners where the city’s reflection shimmers on the water, perfect for golden-hour shoots or intimate moments. The light dances beautifully here, making every frame feel like a love letter to Paris.

This tucked-away street is one of Montmartre’s best-kept secrets. It’s quiet, intimate, and dripping with old-world charm. I love shooting here because it feels like Paris just for us, with the textures of old stone walls and flower boxes.Place du Tertre
Bustling with street artists and filled with lively energy, this square is perfect if you want to feel the heartbeat of Montmartre. The colorful easels and cheerful atmosphere add a playful element to your photos, great for candid, joyful moments.Wandering Montmartre
Some of my best sessions happen just by wandering. The winding lanes, hidden corners, and vine-draped houses create a romantic maze full of surprise backdrops. It’s the perfect place for natural, spontaneous shots.

Timing & Light
My #1 tip for any shoot in Paris, aim to start as close to sunrise as possible. The morning light is soft, golden, and the city is wonderfully peaceful before the crowds arrive. This gives us the best chance to capture the city at its most magical and timeless.
Interested in mixing times? I offer a day + night or sunrise + sunset option, so you can get the very best of Paris’s light and atmosphere. It’s a beautiful way to experience the city and have a variety of moods captured in your photos.
